The history of "Jasmintea"

It is not clear when the first Scottish Fold came into Japan,
the book issued in 1981 says
"The Scottish Fold, the very rare breed in Japan".

It was the beginning of "Jasumintea"
that one female red mackerel tabby& whiteScottish Fold
came to my cattery
from the United States in 1991.

It was very difficult to look for a male Scottish Fold
for pairing in those days in Japan.

I paired with a British Short Hair F2
but the ears of their kittens had rarely folded down well.

They were far behind the standard show type.

At last, I have got received a wonderful male cream & white Fold
with fairly fold down ears in 1996.

Since then I have got to enjoy breeding.

Colors and body types of my Folds getting better,
long haired types have come to be born one after another.

Finally the show grade cats have come to be born.

I think that the quality of Scottish Folds in Japan
is improved nowadays in 2004.

It is still necessary for me to keep studying
and improving but I would like to enjoy breeding from now on.

I built a new sunny house for my beloved cats last year .
